Day 329...

I made my first batch of holiday candy tonight. 

I love the smell of holiday baking and candy making filling my home!

This morning's bakery creation...

Blueberry Mango Almond Scones.

ridiculously delicious.

I love baking.

Day 226...

Yesterday...Sunday...I spent most of my day in my kitchen.

Cleaning.

Cooking.

Baking.

I washed, peeled and cut up several dozen apples; made a huge pot of applesauce.

I de-kerneled half a dozen or so corn cobs - pan roasted some of the kernels...added some black beans and fresh salsa...SO YUM!

and then, I made banana bread, which made my son ridiculously happy...and he then proceeded to eat half the loaf!

a blissful day in my kitchen.

Day 220...

I'm feeling all bakery-ish the last few days...

I probably need to bake one of these spectacular creations again soon!

Day 134 - I love...baking

I received my Kitchen Aid mixer for Christmas several years ago.

It was the only thing I wanted. The only thing on my list.

Specifically, a RED Kitchen Aid mixer.

I love baking.

Baking relaxes me. It's therapeutic. I make up recipes, and tweak recipes to make them my own.

People always say I should open a bakery. And perhaps one day, that's exactly what I will do, but for now, baking is my escape from the daily grind. It is my creative outlet when writing and photography are playing hide-and-seek.

Yep. even when my pen is being stubborn and refusing to channel the stars, even when my eye refuses to fascinate through my camera lens...I can always step into my kitchen and start working a little magic in the realm of my personal bakery.

The kitchen witch in me rarely fails.
