Day 210...

I love this baby Bird.

but let me tell you...trying to get pictures of a wiggly , walking baby...not the simplest task. I shot about 35 blurry pics and salvaged only about 8 clear pics.

Go Bird!

eating Mommy's flip flop.

Day 209...

I love creativity creeping and clawing at my edges.

Last night, I dreamed I was writing a novel, (which is kind of funny because I've never really been keen to write a a novel.) The thing is...all day...all I can think about is that dream novel. and now I want to write it!

Day 207...

There are times when it is harder to focus on the good.

which is, of course, one of the main reasons I started this blog project. To focus on the simple good in each day.

Today has been especially trying. Financially. Emotionally. Which then ties in to my physical well-being. It's hard to have energy when things are conspiring to  drain away every ounce of oomph.

I've always been cat-like. I always land on my feet.

I'm focusing on that.

"Don't worry about a thing cuz' every little thing is gonna be alright."

and there it is. Bob Marley. making me smile. as he does every single time I listen to him. a little reggae...and good feelings wash over me like waves on the sea.

Thanks Bob.

Day 206...

I love this song.

Day 205...

I am head-over-heels in love with Google Earth.

I can spend hours "flying" around the world, "visiting" all the locations I'd love to travel to some day.

It's quite addictive. I lose track of time.

I'm totally okay with that.

Day 204...

I love a lazy day.

I spent most of my day Saturday sitting on my couch watching Meg Ryan flicks.

It was completely lazy. completely un-creative.

completely. necessary.

I needed a big fat day of nothing.

can bring everything back into focus.

Day 203...

I desperately want to be in a place where I can see the night sky like this!

National Geographic - Best Night Sky pictures of 2011

Day 202...

Saw Hayes Carll last night at Headliners. We saw him a few months ago in Texas...but this show was even better.

Texas Country always makes me smile. and Hayes has incredible wit and unique vocals to make his music make me smile even more.

Another Like You.

Day 201...

One of my mama's favourite pieces of mine...from my collection Three Thousand Doors.

by Karen Elaine Greene

I am limitless...
no orchard rows of conformity,
no delicate, pale nectar concocted to tame me.
I am infused with an unquenchable thirst for the
I refuse to be mundane.
I am a pillar of light
walking in harmony with the moon.
I will carve my destiny from the stars and echo softly
     with their song.

Day 198 - I love...poetry day 16

The lyrics to this song, paired with the music, brings me to tears nearly every time.

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals

You don't have to ask me why
Because I know you understand
All the treasures of my life
Are right here in my hand...

Day 197 - I love...poetry day 15

The Road Not Taken
by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both...

Day 196 - I love...poetry day 14

by Emily Bronte

'Tis moonlight, summer moonlight,
All soft and still and fair;
The solemn hour of midnight...

Day 195 - I love...poetry day 13

Ragged Edges
by Karen Elaine Greene

distorted and untidy
unravel quickly
as thread pulled gently
from unfinished hems
no shame in the disheveled
unwrap your gifts
and share them
like stars wait patiently
to be unhooked
and thrown free

Day 192 - I love...poetry day 10

another piece from my poetry collection Three Thousand Doors.

by Karen Elaine Greene

It's about forgetting...
It's about letting go.
Unlocking the anger
and allowing it to have its day,
closing that door
and moving into the future.
Little beads of hope
like raindrops
falling in the ether,
cleansing the soul,
renewing the heart,
breaking through stone barriers...
washing memory clean.

Day 189 - I love...poetry day 7

This is one of mine...from my collection Three Thousand Doors.

Wild Grass
by Karen Elaine Greene

I am the wind charging through you
disturbing crisp leaves on a fresh autumn morning.
I am the phoenix risen from the ashes.
Burst into flames
rise again.
I am the butterfly wandering from flower to flower
unaccustomed too settling long on one blossom or
I am the grass that grows wild at the fence.
I will not be tamed; shaped into some pattern.
I am yours to treasure for a time
until my roots grow soft and I drift away
with the wind I am forever disciple to.

Day 188 - I love...poetry day 6

for Christopher. always, my brother. the end of the stars.

by e e cummings
i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it...
